50th Anniversary Celebrations
12 – 18 August 2013

To all our past pupils, learners, staff and friends

I am greatly privileged to extend a hearty welcome and sincere invitation to all to join with us in celebrating the school's 50-year anniversary. We are hoping that you will all enjoy renewing past friendships with your peers at your alma mater and re-acquainting yourselves with your - dare I say – old teachers. We would like to see both young and old getting together to share mutual memories and inspiring anecdotes of their years at this school. There are a number of activities planned for this week and it is my sincere hope that as many of you as possible will be able to participate in the various functions to be presented. It would be greatly appreciated if you could make a special effort to attend at least one of our special celebratory functions. There are also many items of memorabilia on sale to endorse this year's special status so your support will be appreciated.

Until we meet in the corridors...

Newton Technical High School is a Section 21 state-aided, co-educational, dual medium high school which caters for technically orientated learners. We offer opportunities for our learners to qualify for tertiary education at universities and colleges. It also equips them with the necessary technical background and training to enter a learnership straight from school.

Learners at our school come from all over Port Elizabeth and its environs. Our school has a Christian ethos and will accept learners irrespective of race or sex and those who honour our faith in God, the Creator. Aspiring learners must comply with all the requirements for enrolment.

The school offers a cultural, sporting and pastoral programme aimed at promoting the development of each of its learners. Its ultimate aim is to cultivate well-balanced young adults who can contribute to the community in a meaningful manner.

We trust that this website will acquaint you with our school and its procedures.
