The newly elected prefects for 2020 has been very busy since they were announced in August 2019. They have attended numerous meetings, went on a prefect camp and enjoyed a prefect-parent reception.
From 23 to 25 August, the prefects attended a prefect camp at the African Imprint Outdoor Centre. The first day mostly consisted of lectures on leadership. The second day was fun-filled with team-building activities, ice breakers, obstacle courses and performances. They had to prepare their own three-course meal and decorate their own tables. Although lights out were supposed to be at ten o’clock, no one really made use of the opportunity to sleep, which resulted in a lot of sleepy learners at school on Monday.
On the last day the group had breakfast and departed on the journey home. The prefects were accompanied by Mr Crafford, Mrs Lombard, Mrs Zeelie and Mr Stander.
On 27 August the parents of the prefects had the opportunity to meet the teachers in charge of the prefects’ council and to meet the other parents as well. The highlight of the evening was the food, the atmosphere of positivity and team spirit.
Mr. Crafford, Mrs Zeelie, Mrs Lombard and Mr. van Brouwershaven were the hosts at the reception.
