Lambda, Newton’s Chamber Choir, was one of the performing choirs at Westering High’s annual Voce Volante Choir Festival.
Other performing choirs included, amongst others, the Eastern Cape Youth Choir, the NMU Choir and the Eastern Cape Junior Children’s Choir.
It was a wonderful festival of outstanding performances and and extremely high standard of exceptional choir music. Lambda made a sensational debut with their conductor – the very energetic and talented mr. Akhona Nkumanda. It was their very first proper performance as Lambda, performing This Is Me from The Greatest Showman and The Road Home.
Lambda’s energy and passion were visible on stage and it was clear that they enjoyed it very much. As a result of mr. Nkumanda’s vocal coaching, the chamber choir’s sound was truly spectacular.
“I am a very proud conductor of Lambda and feel very honoured to be associated with such a talented and amazing group of musicians. You have now managed to put yourselves on the map and now it’s a beginning of great things,” says Mr. Nkumanda.
